A scenic drive to Grand Marais is always a great idea and this weekend there's even more incentive as the city hosts the North Shore Water Festival.

The event takes place a the Stone Harbor Wilderness Supply on Friday from 6 p.m. - 8:30 p.m., Saturday from 9:30 a.m. - 4 p.m., and Sunday from 10:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.

Throughout the weekend there will be experts on-hand offering fishing, touring kayak and canoe demonstrations, and more at their demo days.  You can even check out the latest gear.

You can also sign up for paddle board yoga, enjoy outdoor themed films and a beer at the Voyageur Brewing Film Festival, and even meet authors Mark Neuzil and Norman Sims who wrote ' Canoes: A Natural History in North America'.
