The Minnesota Department of Transportation is planning to rebuild and modernize Duluth's Can Of Worms interchange and they're holding two public meetings on Monday.

According to MnDOT, the meetings are scheduled for Monday, February 26 at Clyde Iron Works, 2920 West Michigan Street in Duluth.

The meetings will provide the public an opportunity to ask questions and get the latest updates about the proposed project, which will impact the Interstate I-35, I-535, Highway 53 interchange.

Two identical sessions will be held:

  • 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. - Presentation scheduled for 11:45 a.m.
  • 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. - Presentation scheduled for 6:15 p.m.

This interchange has been in dire need of a redesign which hopefully dramatically improves traffic flow and gets rid of that stop light.  While it will no doubt be a traffic nightmare while the project is underway, it should all be worth it in the long run.
