Rising country star Jon Pardi took to the CMA Awards stage to perform his song "Dirt on My Boots" at the 51st annual Country Music Association Awards in Nashville on Wednesday night (Nov. 8). The performance helped cap what's been a breakout year for the singer-songwriter.

Pardi took his performance straight to the audience, performing with just a microphone and guitar on a small stage in the middle of the crowd. Surrounded by cheering fans, he gave an energetic performance, and closed it by thanking his fans for making "Dirt on My Boots" a No. 1 song.

The year 2017 has been big for Pardi: He's scored two No. 1 hits -- "Dirt on My Boots" and "Head Over Boots" -- and in March, he was announced as the Academy of Country Music's 2017 New Male Vocalist of the Year. At this year's CMA Awards, Pardi won the  New Artist of the Year award, beating out fellow nominees Old DominionLauren Alaina, Luke Combs and Brett Young. He's also up for Single of the Year, against Sam Hunt, Miranda Lambert, Keith Urban and Little Big Town.

At the end of October, Pardi released a new, traditional country-tinged single, "She Ain't It." Once the CMA Awards are over, he will head back out on the road for his Lucky Tonight Tour, which resumes on Nov. 10 with a stop in St Paul, Minn.
