I absolutely LOVE Halloween and watch scary movies on the daily. This time of year, I watch them even more than usual.

To be honest, I don't really get scared by them. In fact, I fall asleep to them sometimes. Ha! However, there is one movie that has actually scared me for life.

I saw it while browsing the scary movie section of Netflix last night and it truly gave me chills just looking at the cover art. Which movie you ask? Two words: The Strangers.

I first saw it years ago when it came out on DVD. The movie's premise isn't exactly groundbreaking but for some reason, the execution is. A couple goes to a secluded cabin and everything changes when they hear a knock at the door. They answer and are tormented all night by a group of people in masks.

Again - this isn't exactly groundbreaking. This is a popular plot line in scary movies but the way this film goes about it is scarier than anything i've ever seen.

The movie was released in 2008. In the decade since, I haven't seen anything that comes close! The worst part is it was inspired by true events. Ahhhh.

This is the scariest movie I have ever seen and I have just about seen them all. I think it is a must-watch for anyone to get in the Halloween spirit but make sure you aren't alone and all your doors are locked. Ha! Watch the trailer below:

You can watch the movie on Netflix now. You're welcome! If you aren't feeling particularly brave, here are 5 other scary films you can watch to warm up.

What is the scariest movie you've ever watched?
