A voluntary recall has been issued by General Mills for five-pound bags of Gold Medal Unbleached Flour due to salmonella concerns.  Specifically, the bags being recalled have a "better if used by" date of April 20, 2020.

It's important to note that as of this point there have not been any confirmed medical issues related to the product; the voluntary recall has been issued out of caution and concern.

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, customers who have the product in their possession should not consume it; disposal would be the course of action, along with a call to General Mills Consumer Relations:  1-800-230-8103.  Customers can also get more details on the General Mills website.

At this point, the recall only affects this one date code of Gold Medal Unbleached Flour five-pound bags. All other types of Gold Medal Flour are not affected by this recall.
