The internet can be a weird place. This week, we learned that lesson first hand when a raccoon became a literal sensation.

How you ask? He scaled not one, but two giant buildings in St. Paul - one of which happened to be one of the tallest in the city.

It all started Tuesday afternoon when he was spotted scaling his first of the two buildings. He was captured and released only to start scaling the neighboring building shortly after.

The daredevil, billed #MPRRaccoon on Twitter, took his time the second time around, stopping on a window ledge at the 23rd floor to take a little nap and keep everyone on edge.

In the middle of the night, he decided to make the final trek to the roof, where he was captured - again. Now, he has been set free to roam around with his fellow raccoons.

Minnesota Wildlife Management Services posted a video of the famous animal being released, along with a message that reads:

"All we can say is WOW and thank you to everyone for all of the kind words and support surrounding our business. We are so proud to be a part of this journey and wanted to share safe the release of the #MPRraccoon ! She was released on private residential property in the southwest suburbs of the Twin Cities with permission from the homeowner. We did consult with the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center of Minnesota (WRC) prior to release and we had determined that the raccoon was safe to release. Again, thank you to everyone for your support!"
