Additional Information

The Fifth Annual Kraus-Anderson Bike Duluth Festival welcomes mountain bike enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels to experience Duluth’s premier urban mountain bike trail system first-hand. The action-packed, two-day festival features something for everyone from the road biking spandex warriors and free-riding adrenaline junkies to the families and kids that simply want to try a new sport. Events include Enduro, Downhill and XC races, product demos, and an evening celebration with family-fun bike events. New to the line-up this year is an added Adventure Ride for those new to the sport, who are looking for a more casual ride.

Early check-in is available Friday, August 10 followed by an opportunity to check out the trails ahead of time. Races and bike events take place Saturday throughout the day starting at 9:30 a.m. There will be an Expo Village, which features product demos from Trek, Specialized, Continental Ski and Bike, Santa Cruz and SRAM and local craft breweries and food. Spirit Mountain will host youth activities throughout the day including kids bike races for all ages and abilities. And, there will also be a silent auction with items provided by sponsors and local businesses. The festival culminates on Sunday with the Great Hawk Chase XC Race, which is part of the Minnesota Mountain Bike Series and features separate races for riders of all abilities, from kids and beginners to pros.

Organized by the nonprofit Kraus-Anderson Community Foundation, proceeds from the Bike Duluth Festival benefit two local nonprofits -- The Cyclists of Gitchee Gumee Shore (COGGS), which works to improve cycling opportunities for Twin Port residents and the Gary New Duluth Development Alliance (GNDDA), which was created to revitalize and transform the GND Recreation Area near the St. Louis River Corridor in Duluth Minnesota.
