The "Lowell To Lakewalk Trail" in Duluth needs a new name, and the City of Duluth Parks & Rec Department would like your name ideas now through July 31.

How cool would it be to say that you named a trail.  You can submit any ideas, but here are a few points from the Duluth Parks & Rec Department to reflect on as you think of your ideas for a trail name:

  • This trail will connect two colleges and many public and private schools.
  • This trail will be the first – and best – vertical trail connection in Duluth.
  • A homeowner, professional or college student will be able to bike or walk safely to campus, their workplace or home.
  • For the first time, Duluthians will be able to safely travel from Rice Lake Road to Mount Royal and the head of the Tischer Creek Trail via other modes, not just personal vehicle.
  • This trail will help people fall in love with Duluth’s green space. Our walkable and bikeable corridors connect people not just from Point A to Point B, but to the natural environment around them – one of the greatest perks of living in Duluth.
  • This trail project gives Duluth a legitimate option for alternative transportation.

If you need even more inspiration, check out the video below and then submit your idea.  Remember, the deadline to submit your name is July 31.
