There may be more snow on the way, but the City of Duluth Maintenance Team must remove accumulated snow and ice from Duluth's Hillside area this week.

According to The City, crews will start removing accumulated snow and ice from East 3rd Street, East 2nd Street, and East First Street beginning Tuesday, February 12th and the work will continue for several days.

The work will take place each day from about 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and entails cutting ice and pushing back the snow banks to allow for more room in the driving lanes.  They will also have a loader on site to clear driveways and sidewalks after the plowing operation has gone by.

Here is the Hillside snow removal schedule:

  • 2/12/2019 - E 3rd St - Mesaba Ave to 22nd Ave E
  • 2/13/2019 - E 2nd St - 7th Ave E to 9th Ave E and 12th Ave E to 24th Ave E
  • 2/14/2019 - E 1st St - 12th Ave E to 21st Ave E

The City advises the public to be aware of posted signs and adhere to the parking restrictions to prevent ticketing and towing.
