This is awful. A Duluth man has been sentenced after being busted taking inappropriate videos of women at the Mall of America last summer.

A man, identified by local media as Benjamin Thomas Goldsmith, has been sentenced to two years of supervised probation. He will also spend four days in the Hennepin County Workhouse. Ugh.

According to KSTP TV in Minneapolis, it all happened in July of 2017. Mall security received reports of Goldsmith acting suspicious one day. It turns out he was using a Muscle Milk container to hide a camera and a sweatshirt to make it look casual as he walked by women wearing skirts.

FOX 9, also out of Minneapolis, reports his phone and camera had nearly 80 videos from 65 different female victims.

Goldsmith originally pleaded guilty to two counts of interference with privacy. He faced 30 of the same counts at first but most were dropped.

I go to Mall of America ALL the time. It is one of my favorite places. It makes me sad that something as simple as shopping is no longer safe. Hopefully this gives the people he hurt a little bit of comfort.
