These scientists should really move their think tank meetings earlier in the week, or on the weekend so we could get this depressing news on a Monday.  Really, on a Wednesday you're going to tell us this?  The day before my vacation you're telling me we are one step closer to the end of the world?

Yep, that's what they did.  We're at 5 to midnight.  It was 6 to midnight for the last few years, but apparently we are just sucking more as a world.

Why?  Well according to the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists, we haven't done enough to combat climate change, and we've not been responsible enough in rounding up nukes.

So the real question, is what the hell can I do?  And the answer is pretty much nothing.  You can try to go green as much as you can.  For every one plastic bag you save at the grocery store by using your re-usable tote, 5,000 new drivers in India are driving their brand new inefficient car blowing black smoke in the air.

I get the fact that we need to protect our resources, it's just frustrating when we do so much, and developing countries with booming populations just continue to grow like a mold on the earth's surface.  Hey don't get me wrong, we're part of the mold too.  The more of us there are, the more the planet is going to die.  It's inevitable.  All we can do is slow it down just a little bit and live in fear.

Or we can just ignore these stupid doomsday clocks and live one day at a time, and try to enjoy the little things we have while we have them.

I like the second choice better.  And maybe we should kick that space program in the butt a little and get some options here.
