I woke up last night at about 1 in the morning in a panic. MN firearm deer opener was just 2 days away and I realized I hadn't even shot my hunting rifle since last year when I took down a doe. Every year before the opener I take my rifle out with plenty of time to spare and sight in the scope. I make sure everything is working and that I'm comfortable with the gun and take a few shots at the minimum.

The problem was I've been so busy this year that I haven't had a chance to shoot my rifle at our hunting shack to sight it in, and it's 80 miles away.  Luckily for me, we have local shooting ranges that are here just for that reason, and even better yet they are open every day leading up to deer opener in the area.

I go to George Constance Rifle Range just South of Superior. It's a great facility and it's ran by volunteers.  There is no fee to go there and shoot, but they do accept donations. I always make sure to donate some cash when I am there, and I would urge you to do the same if you go.

This time they had a raffle they are running where the proceeds will go to paving the parking area.  It's really a top notch place! They have multiple shooting areas and distances. They provide hearing protection, eye protection, spotting scopes, sand bags and more! It's really a fantastic place for hunters and sportsman and it's really something you shouldn't take for granted.
