The City of Duluth is providing a construction status update for a project that impacts travel in the Kenwood area in Duluth.

According to the city, beginning at 7:00 a.m. today, Kenwood Avenue will close at Arrowhead road.  The closure of Kenwood Avenue is anticipated to last several weeks unless work is completed in a shorter period of time.

This closure will allow for concrete pavement removal and repairs, sidewalk installation for the Kenwood Village Development, and the installation of the wiring and signal pole bases for the new traffic signal system.

Expect Arrowhead Road to be tapered down to one lane in each direction as motorists approach the intersection at Kenwood Avenue.  Also, drivers will not be able to turn southbound onto Kenwood Avenue from Arrowhead Road.

Motorists needing access to Howard Gnesen Road should take the earlier left turn onto Blackman Ave and connect via McFarlane Rd.

There will be detour signs posted to help everyone navigate around this project.  Please take your time and drive with caution for your safety and the safety of the crews working on the road.
