An International Migratory Bird Day celebration is scheduled for Saturday in Superior and it'll be a worthwhile day for Northland bird lovers.

The schedule of events is expected to include:

  • 7:00 a.m. – Meet at 28th St Trail Head for a hike through Superior Municipal Forest along Millennium Trail.  You'll explore habitats of the forest while enjoying discussions with a local birding expert.  You'll complete the trail at Woodstock Bay and shuttle back to trail head.
  • 11:00 a.m. – Lunch break with a “Helping Migratory Birds In Our
    Backyards” presentation by Kim Grveles, coordinator of the Wisconsin
    Stopover Initiative.  This will take place at the Lake Superior National Estuarine Research Reserve, located at 14 Marina Drive in Superior.
  • 12:30 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.– Questions and wrap up
