Celebrate Earth Day at the Lake Superior Zoo this Friday

From helping to clean trash and debris so it doesn't end up in our rivers, streams and lakes to partying for the planet at the Lake Superior Zoo.  There's a lot you can do to help out the environment, educate your family and celebrate Earth Day 2016 together. 

What is Earth Day?  It's celebrated annually on April 22 dating back to it's start in 1970.   There are events worldwide to support environmental protection.

The Lake Superior Zoo is doing their part by throwing a Party for the Planet.  A special after-hours event at the Zoo on Earth Day, Friday, April 22 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.  The whole family is invited to see the animals "after hours".  What do they do after dinner, do they watch Wheel of Fortune like grandma and grandpa?

You'll be able to meet endangered species up close with animal presentations, unless they're sleeping.  You'll get the camping bug guaranteed while you're sitting by the campfire enjoying free snacks.  The Arrowhead Astronomical Society will set up telescopes for viewing the night sky.

Ticket to the celebration are $5 for children (3-12), $10 for adults (13 and older), and ages 2 and under are free.  If you are a Zoo membership you qualify for a 50% discount.  A $1 from each ticket will be donated to the MN Zoo’s Tiger Conservation Campaign.
