I love acting!  It's so much fun to develop the personality of a character and make it your own.  Even better, to act in one of the Rubber Chicken Theater productions you will be working side by side and building friendships with other community members.  Step out of that bubble and consider trying out for "Motherhood Out Loud".

Auditions for the new comedy, Motherhood Out Loud will be held On Tuesday, March 26 at 7pm at the Spirit of the North Theater in the Fitger's Brewery Complex, 600 East Superior Street.  The actual production will take place May 3-5, 2013.

They are looking to fill three women roles and one man role, all playing a wide variety of ages and types. Just because "motherhood" is in the title of the production, doesn't mean you've had to bear children!  Everyone is encouraged to audition! Previous acting experience is helpful but not necessary.

If you've never been to an audition before, they plan to have cold readings from the script. Just show up and watch for a while, then do the best you can to "get into character". They will explain what they want you to do, when it's your turn to audition.

Here's a little bit about "Motherhood Out Loud".  It's a new show consisting of monologues and short scenes from a collection of celebrated American writers. It is said to be a  thrilling theatrical event, one that never fails to strike both the funny bone and the heart as it explores every aspect of motherhood. From adoption to surrogacy to gay parenting to stepmothers, no stone is left unturned in this funny, poignant, and sweetly entertaining play. More information can be found about the play on the website www.motherhoodoutloud.com.  The show is being directed by Molly O'Neill, a local theater veteran who has directed and appeared in numerous productions throughout the Twin Ports.
