David was born in Duluth and raised on Steve Martin comedy and Jell-O Pudding Pops, the latter was responsible for his Jabba The Hut Phase in 6th grade. His dad, longtime Northland personality David John, influenced his love for radio and performing by introducing him at a young age to a wide variety of music and to the Duluth Playhouse.
