My wife has read the books that apparently spawned the movie "Divergent."  It's another one of those trilogies where the girl is the hero.  Sounds a little like Hunger Games, right?  Eh hem..

Well it's a teensy bit like Hunger games. Both are set in the future.  Both happen after a war or terrible conflict.  Both have lead females heroines that save the day.  Both deal with children leaving their parents.  But besides from that, they're pretty different.  Right?

Here's a quick synopsis from somebody better at doing synopsises. (Synopsi? What's the plural here?)

In a world divided by factions based on virtues, Tris learns she's Divergent and won't fit in. When she discovers a plot to destroy Divergents, Tris and the mysterious Four must find out what makes Divergents dangerous before it's too late.

If you read the book, you're going to love it.  My wife and one of her friends thought it was excellent.   I hadn't read the book, and I enjoyed it.  There were some parts that seemed corny to me, but overall it was a good movie.

In comparison to other movie's my wife made me watch, I'd put it at much better than Twilight, and almost as good as Hunger Games.

I can live with that.  Final review grade:  B
