It's been a long winter. Thankfully, we are tough as nails here in the Northland.

As of mid-month, we had already seen the seventh snowiest February in history. The odds of moving up that list are strong, considering we still have a few weeks time left to accumulate even more.

In fact, Duluth has seen more snow up to this point this year than at the same time last year. As if that wasn't enough, we are also above our average for this time of year, too. Do you see what I'm saying?

On top of that, we have also seen some very cold temperatures. (Hello, polar vortex) The truth is, we probably won't see snow or frigid temps ending any time soon.

Because it's been such a long winter, I have been appreciating the days we have sunshine more than ever. They are few and far between but when they do happen, I feel extra thankful.

I scoured the internet for a few stock photos that show different feelings all Duluthians have when we finally see some sunshine. It has been awhile after all!

    Sadness

This won't last long - the sunshine that is. The tears probably will.
