5 Country Artists We Need New Music From In 2018
2017 was a great year for music and I'm excited for what 2018 holds, especially because so many artists have been taking some time off to write new music. Some of them have been teasing us on social media about it, too.
A few major country stars have announced new projects for the year ahead while others haven't given us any hope for new songs in 2018.
Whatever the case may be - here are 5 country acts we need new music from this year. Fingers crossed!
It's been a long two and a half years since the country star's last project dropped. Her absence is felt thanks to her witty songwriting and unique storytelling unlike anything else out there. Thankfully, Kacey said we can expect a new album very soon. (She still tops the list because she hasn't set a release date yet so nothing is set in stone.) One thing is for sure - "Golden Hour" is sure to be worth the wait. (P.S. I can't wait to see Kacey in person soon!)
Hunter blasted onto the scene back in 2011. He's released three albums since then, with the last one being in 2015. He has released a few songs here and there but hasn't hinted at a new, full project anytime soon. He brings a fresh sound to the genre and his guitar playing is amazing, too. We need more of him this year to shake things up!
Maddie & Tae were one of the most exciting and bold acts to break into the country music world in some time, thanks in part to their debut #1 debut single. "Girl In A Country Song" took aim at some of the main men on the radio and while it was all in good fun, it sure was a bold move. They've been laying low for a bit but they have hinted at new music on their social media accounts. Here's to hoping this is the year they return with something just as juicy as they started with!
Jana took a break from music last year to focus on raising her daughter amidst personal turmoil. Her last album, released in late 2015, was raw and personal. She has been through a lot since then so here's to hoping she puts her pen to paper and writes about it. It's when she does her best work and country music is all about honesty, after all.
Many fans of the famous trio panicked when rumors swirled awhile back that the girl group was no longer. (I was one of them!) Miranda put those rumors to rest, telling Billboard magazine the trio was going to release another album in 2018. Those are all the details they've released for now but it's enough to keep us hanging on! We need this outspoken group to keep taking on the good, the bad and the ugly more than ever.
