Obviously, with you adding to this list, it's going to be huge.  It all started when I blogged about  three businesses we missed in Duluth.  As you responded, I noticed many were restaurants and felt we should dedicate a blog just to those memories.  We all had different tastes, our parents brought us to different places and together I bet we can stir up some beloved memories.  Thank you to Peter Luke/Memories of Duluth Facebook page and Dave Ballard of the DNT Attic for the pictures. I'll start with four, you add the others.  GO!

    Chinese Lantern

The Chinese Lantern was the "go to" place whenever we had a birthday, anniversary or special celebration.  Loved the atmosphere, remember the round tables inside the gazebos?  The waitstaff wore kimono tops and the water fountain in the lobby?  The food was exceptional!  Who could forget the slightly winding staircase upstairs to the Brass Phoenix?  Spent many a night dancing there!

    Sandy's Hamburgers

I was very young when my parents would take me to Sandy's Hamburgers. I don't remember what the food what was like, but I do remember what the building looked like.  It had a plaid orange and red lit roof line.  Most of the Sandy's Hamburger Restaurants in our area turned into Hardee's.  The one we went to was on Superior Street, across from Bergie's Bar.  Most recently it was an auto parts store.  Do you remember Sandy's Hamburger's?

    Black Steer

The Black Steer and Jolly Fisher are another couple of restaurants that people frequented to celebrate a special day.  The Black Steer was where India Palace is now.  The last time I was there was to celebrate a birthday where one of my gifts was a non-skip Walkman CD player, lol I bet you can guess the year!!

The Jolly Fisher had the biggest shrimp with the best batter!!!  Their motto was "if it swims, we have it" and they truly did, so very yummy.  Do you remember going to either of these restaurants?

    Canal Park Inn

I was given a quote from my husband, Homie because this was one of his most favorite restaurants years ago.  "Best onion rings and chocolate shakes, EVER".

My parents would go to the Sportsman's Smelt Fry which was held in a tent at the end of Park Point.  I didn't like smelt at that young age so we would stop at the Canal Park Inn for a cheeseburger and fries on our way for me!  It eventually morphed into a Burger King and that eventually became a parking lot.  I wish I could remember what the potato puffs were, everyone talks about how good they were.
