It's not often you can bring your dog on a walk/run event, but they are more than welcome at the Humane Society of Douglas County’s 20th annual Cause for the Paws.

The event is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. Saturday, September 8, and everyone is invited to participate with or without their dogs. Cause for the Paws will be held on the Osaugie Trail in Superior, located just off East 2nd Street near the entrance to Barker’s Island.

Individual registration is $30 until August 20 and then increases to $40.  Family registration (parents and minor children) is $75 until August 20 then increases to $95.

Participants will each receive a t-shirt and all dogs will receive bandanas.

Everyone is also encouraged to collect pledges for the event, which benefits the Humane Society of Douglas County.  Each participant collecting $50 or more in pledges, in addition to the registration fee, receives a sweatshirt.  Prizes will also be awarded to the individual adult and youth who collect the most pledges.
