Bikes are being accepted today, Friday, April 22 until 7p or tomorrow, Saturday, April 23 from 8a-9:45a for the 10th Annual Continental Ski & Bike "Bike Swap".  This yearly event benefits the Head of the Lakes United Way.  Plus, the first 100 kids at the event receive a free bike helmet thanks to St. Luke's Hospital and Joe Golcz at State Farm Insurance!

If you have a bike you don't want anymore or are looking for a new to you bike, this is one event you'll want to attend.  You not only have the piece of mind that the bike you traded in is going to be used by someone appreciative, but you can also find one that will get you out on the trails this summer.  Remember, you don't have to swap a bike, if you just want to come get a bike you're more than welcome.

Here's how the donation to the Head of the Lakes United Way is generated.  When a bike is sold 75% goes to the seller and 25% is given as a donation.  If you have brought a bike in for the swap and it doesn't sell on Saturday, bear in mind that bikes are discounted by 20% on Sunday.  If you donate a bike and it doesn't sell you'll get a call to come get it, if you leave it with them it will be donated to a local charity.

They actually close a portion of 1st Street so you can "test drive" the bikes. Please remember to bring a helmet if you plan on test driving a bike.  They have a few testers, but personally, I'd want to use my own.

Sale hours are Saturday, April 23 from 10a-5p and Sunday (with the 20% discount) from 11a-3p.  (sorry, no early birds).  Cash and credit cards only, no checks.
